Grace Christian School uses a combination of "A Beka Book" and Bob Jones Press curriculums in kindergarten. This program includes Bible, phonics, reading, manuscript writing, numbers, and simple math. With these concepts in hand, the student can then confidently enter first grade and his/her parents can be assured that he is more than adequately prepared.
Half-day kindergarten is provided for 3 and 4 year old children, with day care available for parents who need an all-day program. It is our desire to present K3 and K4 students with a variety of learning situations and information without the pressure or stress of grading. Our 5 year old curriculum exceeds the requirements set forth by the South Carolina Department of Education. Students' work is sent home to parents weekly, and report cards are issued quarterly.
Kindergarten students participate in class music, library time, introduction to computers, field trips to local parks, the zoo, and the SC State Fair. Kindergarten classes also have special days such as:
- Grown Up Day
- Farm Day
- Slipper Day
- Kindergarten Fair Day
- Clown Day
- Pilgrim and Indian Day
- Valentine's Day
All kindergarten classes participate in the K5 graduation program at the end of each year. K5 graduates can read and are well prepared for first grade.

At the elementary school level, great emphasis is placed on the basic fundamentals of
education. The "A Beka Book" ™, Bob Jones Press, and Saxon math curriculum is used. This begins with bible study in each grade every day. A strong phonics program begins at the
first grade level. A mathematics program using traditional methods provides the student
with an excellent mathematical base. Penmanship is still considered important. Homework,
report cards, concerned teachers, and informed parents are the rule and not the exception.
High standards and effective discipline are hallmarks of our elementary program. It is
our desire to train students to be diligent and use their abilities to the fullest extent
and not be content with just getting by.
Students in Grades 4-6 participate in State fine arts competition in Charleston, SC each spring. Competition is held for individuals and groups in Bible, academic testing, speech, art, and music.
Summer school is provided as needed at an additional charge for students earning a D or F in English or Math for the year.
Elementary students are a vital part of our school spirit and are included in high school pep rallies, play in our pep band at home games, attend high school soccer and basketball games, participate in spirit days, and compete in our annual Field Day activities.
We offer the parents a choice of a proven educational program designed for the average
student but producing above-average results, all in a warm Christian atmosphere.

High School
The teenage years are times of spiritual and academic growth. Social habits,
friendships, goals and desires are established for life during these important formative
years. Because a student's future is dependent upon the training and guidance given during
these years, we believe a Bible-based education is imperative. Self discipline, obedience,
respect for authority, love for fellow man, country and God, honesty, and dependability
are emphasized and taught from a Christian perspective.
Our program meets and exceeds the requirements established by the Education Department
of the State of South Carolina. All students must follow the course of study recommended
to them. A student must earn 24 credits during the ninth through twelfth grades from Grace
Christian School.
