Exciting School Choice News

We are excited and thankful to report that the ESTF program that we let you know about a few months ago passed the state legislature and was signed into law by the Governor last week. These funds will allow qualifying families to apply and, if accepted, receive $7,500/student to pay for educational services, including private school tuition. Even more exciting is the fact that the law that was passed will serve to expand the number of students and the eligibility requirements each year until, prayerfully, school choice becomes universal in the state of SC.

I know that many of you have already applied, but I want to encourage those of you who have not yet applied to visit the website below to learn more about the program and to apply, if eligible. If you have already applied, please revisit your application and make sure that the status is “Complete” and that they are not waiting on any additional supporting documentation. These funds are for rising K5 students all the way through 12th grade. A new application window will be opened on Monday, May 19th, beginning at 8 AM. If you are active military, you may apply today. This year, there are 10,000 spots available. Our understanding is that around 8,000 applications were received during the initial application window, so we expect the remaining spots to go fast. Please apply as soon as you can on Monday if you would like to take advantage of these funds.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me directly. I am happy to help!

Sincerely,

Gavin Lockaby
